The muscles of our face and mouth allow us to eat, speak, breathe and smile. The optimum growth and function of our oral facial musculature is critical for our growth and overall well-being. A disordered pattern of the function of one or some of our oral facial muscles can result in improper habits such as mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, and incorrect swallowing, which can lead to speech, dental, and breathing difficulties. These are Oro myofunctional disorders.
